PEG dialdehydes are crosslinkers reactive towards amines (forming imine bonds) or hydrazines (forming hydrazone bonds). Imines are hydrolyzable and can be used for reversible Pegylation. They can be reduced to secondary amines insitu under mild conditions for permanent pegylation.
